Changing how I do things

I realized today that I have been doing a really silly thing by posting my daily photos here and having them autopost over to http://www.simonponder.net.

From now on I will only be posting random things I find so that they will post to my twitter stream, and will be posting my photo of the day and my serious blogging over on simonponder.net.

Day 55

Tonight we had another of those awesome West Texas sunsets. I was rushing home from the camera store when I first spotted it.

I drove home, ran to my room to grab my camera, wrestled with a certain puppy who was roaming the apartment looking for attention and rushed outside to get a shot.

I missed the best part of the sunset by only a few minutes, but I still like this shot.

Day 54

More snow in Lubbock.

I sure am tired of the snow. I carried my DSLR with me today so I would be sure and get lots of photos. Grabbed this shot at 7 a.m. before I drove to work. The plan was to stop at different spots along the way and get a lot of cool shots of the snow. That plan changed however, because there was enough snow on the ground to make it difficult to drive. Once I was on the road I decided it would be best if I just kept driving.

There was a time on the drive when I was stuck in the middle of the Loop, and had growing concern that I was not going to make it work and would have to leave my truck. A second time closer to the office, I lost control and skidded into the median getting stuck again.

By noon today the snow had started to melt, so the drive home was not as bad.

Hopefully this is the last snowfall of the year.

I am tired of snow at this point, bring on rain or nice sunny days.

Day 53

Forgot to shoot tonight, but here is another shot from Rustic Range. Had a little fun with this shot in Lightroom, and I like the results.

Day 52

Today some friends and I went to the shooting range in Slaton, Texas to shoot some guns. I decided to take my camera and shoot photos of people shooting guns.

Of all the shots I did today, this is my favorite because I got the shutter speed just right and caught the shell as it was ejected. I also shot some video of the event because this was the first time Danielle Stolley had ever held a gun.

Day 51

Photo

On my way to dinner with my roommate, I saw that the sun was setting and decided to grab a quick picture of it.

West Texas has some of the best sunsets I have ever seen, not sure why I have not posted more of them.

Day 50: Crazy chica gets crafty

My room mate Lindzi really enjoys arts and crafts projects.  Recently she signed up for an account on Etsy and started selling things.

Today was her first time to sell something and she is so excited.

Right now she is working on a new item to sell for her store.

I have thought about setting up a site for people to buy prints of things I have shot.

Is it worth my time?

Day 49

Photo

I decided that today after work I would go for a walk and shoot with one of my film cameras. This creates a small problem because it is kind of hard to shoot, process and scan film all in one day.

This shot was taken at Ohanas today at lunch. I bet a friend of mine a lunch that the Saints would win the Super Bowl.

It is a little late to have a victory lunch, but I got it today.

The Chef came out and lit the hibachi on fire. This is something I have always wanted to shoot with my SLR, but I left it at home today.

Still, I am pleased with how the Saints did, Who dat?

Day 48

Photo

This is Josh.

Josh decided to bring his new guitar to work today and play it in my office.

I asked him to play some finish death metal.

He played Nirvana. Not the same. Not at all.
